Call for papers: EFMD higher education research conference

EFMDEFMD is organising a higher education research conference, this year themed “Innovations in Higher Education”. The conference is held 10-11 October at IESE Business School in Barcelona.

The conference theme is described as following: “The conference will focus on the many innovations that are taking place in higher education and address these from three broad perspectives. First the conference will look at the different forms of innovations in the governance, management and internal organisation of higher education institutions. It will also look at innovations in the delivery of education and in the different types of innovations that higher education institutions are engaging in for the production of research.”

The conference has three tracks:

• Track 1: Innovations in forms of governance, management and organisation of higher education institutions
• Track 2: Innovations in education
• Track 3: Innovations in research

Authors are requested to submit an outline paper of around 2000 words – deadline 27th of May!

2014 EFMD Higher Education Research Conference in Stockholm

EFMDTheme for this years conference is Research on Higher Education Management, Management Education and Business Schools: “Developments & Discoveries”. The conference is hosted by Stockholm Business School, at Stockholm University in Sweden, at 15-16 May 2014.

The main target group for the conference is to facilitate research and dialogue on topics related to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and business schools by bringing together academics from management, higher education and other fields.

Three keynote speakers have been confirmed:

  • Rosemary DEEM, Vice Principal and Professor of Higher Education Management, Royal Holloway College, University of London
    “Developments and Discoveries in Research on Higher Education Management”
  • Santiago IÑIGUEZ DE ONZOÑO, Dean and Professor of Strategic Management, IE Business School
    “Bridging the Agora and the Academia: Relevance and Impact of Business School Research”
  • Ken STARKEY, Professor of Management and Organisational Learning, Nottingham Business School
    “In Search of a Narrative: Reflections on the Evolution of the Business School”
