ESF summer school for quantitative methods

European Science Foundation is arranging summer schools within the Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences 2 programme. The summer schools provide unique opportunity for young researchers to gain up-to-date knowledge on the developments in quantitative methods and provide an arena for networking with international researchers working with quantitative methods from a range of disciplinary backgrounds.

The two Summer Schools in 2011 are:

  • Analysis methods for cross-national comparisons – Second half of August 2011, Leuven, Belgium
  • Network dynamics – 29 August – 6 September 2011, Groningen, the Netherlands

Accommodation and meal costs at the Summer Schools will be covered by the organisers, but applicants must cover their own travel costs. Only in exceptional cases of hardship will contributions be made to travel costs. Successful applicants will be expected to attend for the entire duration of the Summer School.

The courses target PhD students or junior researchers (finished PhD no longer than 5 years ago). They should be citizens, or work in the Euroepan countries listed on the QMSS2 website.

Application deadline 31st of January 2011. The Call for Participants with extended information on the application procedure can be downloaded here.
